How to Get Rid of Skin Fungus
Fungi are everywhere. They’re in the ground, in the air, in the clothes we wear, and in the food we eat. Many fungi are harmless to most humans, but some fungi, especially ones like Candida Albicans, cause a wide variety of illnesses that can range from being just uncomfortable to being deadly. If you are suffering from the pain, itching, and embarrassment of most common types of fungus, it's not because of something that you did. It's not because you are 'dirty.' In fact, if you have a fungal infection, allergic reaction, or related condition, it's not your fault at all.
The toenail fungus can be defined as a common problem in which, a fungus or bacteria get attracted to dark and damp environments and locate right under and around the toenails. There, the microorganism thrives under protection of the nail itself. Fungus feels best in warm environment provided by your socks and shoes. It gets enough sweat or moisture to live and spread and finally, makes the nail discolored, one of the features of fungal infection of the toenail.
Fungus between toes or Athletes foot is a fungal infection of the skin of the foot. It can affect any area for the foot but it is more common between the toes. Honey has very effective anti-fungal properties.Simply put apply a thin layer of honey to the affected area once or twice a day. If the fungus is between your toes then just put on an old sock. If the affected area is somewhere else on the foot you'll bee to put a loose bandage on top to avoid leaving sticky honey marks wherever you go.This honey remedy is very effective. You do not have to worry about any side effects. Just do not give honey to children who are less than one year old.
If your nails are infected, it is best to file them down and remove as much of the infected nail and skin as possible. A coarse file may be required. Thereafter, you should soak your feet in a hot household bleach solution ( 2-3 caps for a foot basin or make 1 to 100 for a weak solution and 1 to 30 for a very strong solution ). Usually a half an hour soak should be sufficient. Repeat every day or every couple days. Once your feet are dry, apply a small amount of hand cream to the skin over the arch of your feet. Bleach will make your skin dry.
Most fungal skin infections are superficial, so treatment is with local medications. It is also known as topical treatment. Anti-fungal medications are applied on the affected area. They are in form of medical powders, lotions and crèmes. If the rash covers larger areas, then tablets must be used. Some of the anti-fungal medicines used are: miconazole, terbinafine and clotrimazole.
Treating fungal infections should begin with prevention. Keeping the baby clean and dry will help offset problems. Keeping baby skin moisturized with moisture barrier lotions is another solid preventative measure. Baby skin fungus often thrives in warm, damp areas so combating these conditions may make a significant difference. In addition, baby skin fungus can be spread from person to person via direct contact with other people or even the family pet.
